Name: Jonathan Darby Carver
Nicknames: Carver
Age: Twenty six
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetersexual
Species: Mutant
Occupation: Captain of The Enya, Smuggler
Height: 6'3''
Weight: 194 lbs
Body modifications: Ashby's body is completely covered in ink from head to toe. At his last count he had more than sixty different tattoos etched into his body. The most prominent of these are a large, severed dear head prominently displayed on his chest, three dots below his right eye, and the words "DOLL FACE" spread over his knuckles. When asked if his tattoos have any meaning the man usually responds with a noncommittal shrug and a witty quip. Most don't possess any sort of sentimental value, but there are a few with stories of love, loss, and larceny behind them.
Physical description: Min. 1 paragraph
Powers: Ash mimicry and Ash manipulation
Weakness: Water and Ashby don't get along quite like they used to. The man loves water and the open sea, after all he's the captain of a transport vessel, but when ever his powers become involved you can hear him start cursing up a storm. Significant amounts of water causes Ashby's particle form to transform into a gray glob and prevents him from utilizing any ash he creates in an effective manner. Small amounts of liquid evaporate and sizzle off of his super heated from, but dump enough on him and he'll fizzle out. While it won't kill him it makes life a bit more inconvenient.

History:
- Carver was born with larceny in his blood. The illegitimate child of Dublin socialite, Evelyn Callaghan, and American tourist, William Carver, the young Jonathan should have been a black mark on the wealthy family's reputation. Conrad Callaghan, however, was a man with plenty of black marks of his own. Coming from nothing, the man stole, cheated, and smuggled his way into a legitimate business. He transformed a smuggling operation that started with one ill gotten cargo ship into a prosperous shipping business. What was one more secret to sweep under the rug?
- While most bastards would have been ostracized, Carver, as Conrad called the boy,was adored by his grandfather and his mother doted upon him. He was provided with a generous education, but he learned what really mattered behind the closed doors of the Callaghan home. Despite his successful legitimate business, Conrad still engaged in less than savory exploits. He would often say that it was the love of the game that brought him back, the thrill of being moments away from being caught. Carver was enamored with his grandfather's stories and wanted nothing more than to imitate the aging criminal and Conrad couldn't say no to his beloved grandson.
- Carver, despite the circumstances of his conception, was groomed to take over the Callaghan legacy, both honest and criminal. He was taught the proper way to conduct business, the right way to talk, the right way to walk, what to wear, how to charm, lie, cheat, steal, and most importantly, how to sail. Carver traveled with his grandfather whenever he had a particularly gainful venture, watching how he engaged in business and, as he grew, even partaking in a bit of the game himself. Conrad's love of the game would catch up to him though.
- In 2020, at the age of twenty one, Carver lost his grandfather in a way he never expected. Conrad Callaghan, businessman, smuggler, dashing rogue, was arrested. Not for smuggling or his other truly criminal enterprises, but instead was put away for tax evasion. Carver could sparsely believe it. His world was suddenly crumbling. The fortune that his grandfather had amassed was seized, the house he'd lived in was taken, and the business was dissolved. The family was left with almost nothing... almost. Conrad had set aside a contingency if he'd ever gotten caught. He'd never thought he'd need it, but it had paid off. Conrad had been able to retain one cargo vessel, an older GenRO named The Enya, under a proxy and roughly a quarter million dollars. From behind bars Conrad passed on what was left of his legacy to his grandson.
- For the next few years Carver worked aboard The Enya, putting together a crew, establishing a list of contacts, and picking up any sort of work he could. He's made progress faster than most, but too slow for his taste. It wasn't until a year after he'd begun captaining the ship that things seemed to pick up. The plague that blanketed the world gave no quarter. It spread everywhere, including the sea. Carver and his crew were in the midst of transporting their ill gotten gains when the first crewman grew sick. Out of the crew of thirty twelve members contracted the disease. Eight died while the remaining four began to develop strange abilities. Carver saw the powers he obtained as an opportunity, an edge to gain his fortune. It wasn't until news spread that the world government sought to persecute the mutants, as they were being called, that he saw dollar signs. After all, what better way was there for a mutant to leave unnoticed than to be smuggled out?
